sue me
Quote “I love Thelma Houston’s ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ plus everything by KC and the Sunshine Band, sue me.”
Meaning I know it’s wrong but I don’t care; I stand by this opinion or action that you think is ridiculous
Use To sue someone means to take him or her to court to settle a dispute. When you end a statement in sue me, you’re jokingly asking whomever you’re talking to take you to court if they disagree with what you’re saying. Someone who says sue me knows his or her opinion is unpopular or offensive but doesn’t care. It’s a lot like saying get over it after saying something shocking.
Examples “You know, I just still don’t believe in global warming. So sue me.” |
