要说到“取消”，脑子里第一个跳出来的词肯定是cancel，但是美国人更习惯说call off，至少我全部Friends看下来，call off出现的频率明显比cancel要高。

MONICA正在为CAROL和SUSAN的同性恋婚礼做准备，这时CAROL进来
MONICA: Hi.
MONICA: 嗨。
CAROL: How's it going?
CAROL: 进行得怎么样？
MONICA: It's goin' great. Right on schedule. Got my little happy helpers.[everyone groans]

CAROL: Fine, whatever.
CAROL: 好的，随便了。
ROSS: What's the matter?
ROSS: 发生什么事了？
CAROL: Nothing. Ok, everything. I think we're calling off the wedding.
CAROL: 没事。好吧，大事。我想我们要取消婚礼了。
ROSS: What?
ROSS: 什么？
MONICA: You're still gonna pay me, right? Or something a little less selfish.
MONICA: 那你还是会付我钱吧？或是做不那么自私的事情。
ROSS: Carol, what's the matter? What happened?
ROSS: Carol, 怎么了，发生什么了？
CAROL: My parents called this afternoon to say they weren't coming.
CAROL: 我的父母下午打电话说他们不准备参加婚礼了。
ROSS: Oh my god.
ROSS: 老天。
