If you use the internet, you've likely come across the word "blog", which stands for web log. But as more and more people log in to post their online thoughts, investors are eyeing the huge profit potential.
A Blog is an online space to post your thoughts and interact with people quickly, and most importantly, it's free.
Since China's first Blog site, Blogchina, was set up three years ago, Bloggers have become accustomed to having free space online.
But Blogbus, one of the growing blog sites in China, has announced it will provide a pay service to VIP bloggers. Dou Yi is the executive director.
"VIP model goes beyond space, it's more about service and new functions. For instance, distance upload, independent domain name and personalized templates. As Bloggers are getting used to Blog everyday, it's natural for them to want these services."
Blog sites have undergone a tough time. The world's biggest Blog provider Blogger.com was sold to Google in 2003 for lack of profit. Domestic Blog providers also have problems making ends meet.
Despite this, investors believe the stunning growth of Chinese Bloggers ensures a great profit.
A good example that demonstrates the growth of Chinese Bloggers is in the MSN space Blog. The service, released by Microsoft with the launch of it's new MSN messenger, is quickly accessible to Chinese MSN users. The number of MSN Space Bloggers jumped to 500,000 within a few months.
