There and Therefore

It was such a beautiful place,
I fell in love with her at first sight.
Knowing her name was a coincidence,
Yet on her behalf, I took the last flight.

It was such a distant place,
I began a journey of illogical fascination.
Burying all my past in a black suitcase,
I thought she would be my final destination.

It was such a profound place,
I dreamed of becoming a part of her pride.
Opening a parcel without any official address,
Soon I realised a fact impossible to hide.

It was such a secret place,
Warning signs prevented me from going near.
Leaving behind the heavily guarded gates,
My forbidden love, was forced to disappear.

It was such a unique place,
A place I could never, never forget.
Trying hard to forge a smile on my face,
What did I say? “I have no regret.”

It was such a beautiful place,
I was overwhelmed by her alluring scenery.
Even if I have to terminate my last remembrance,
Only this day, shall be my dearest memory.
