Prieur de Meyney

Prieur de Meyney is the second label of Chateau Meyney which is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc covering an impressive 51 hectares adjoining those of near neighbours Montrose and Phélan-Ségur. The vineclimb to an altitude of 20 metres up quite a steep slope that ensures good natural drainage of the soil. Similar to Chateau Pétrus, there is a layer of blue clay that is about 3 metres thick and lies at a depth of about 2.6 metres below the surface. These remarkable natural factors give the wine a rich constitution that is quite exceptional.

A lovely deep ruby-red colour, pronounced, very precise aromas evoking the thousand and one subtleties of perfectly ripe red fruit, and very mellow tannins with elegant diversity, all contribute to a perfect Prieur de Meyney rich in promise.
