June 16, 2005 for me should be memorized for good. It's the day I got my bachelor degree, the day I no longer be a registered student of my university. Ultimately, It's the day I graduated from SHUFE which will be called my Alma Mater from that day on. I gave a big smile and waved my hands hard from inside the window to Wen with all the packed stuff of the dorm crammed in the taxi. The excitement of graduation at that moment was just overwhelming. I couldn't sense any leaving distress floating in the air. But on last Saturday morning when the train began to departing from the Shanghai station with Juan on it wiping her tears, I was just completely surrounded by the sadness of parting. Nearly 4-year living together experience has built connection among four of us. Though I can’t tell how close and strong the connection is, it is there exactly. Despite knowing with the advanced technology and convenient traffic, we can quickly get together if we really want to, I still could not help holding back my tears from rolling down when the train started running. Four-year in SHUFE perhaps is just a short period in contrast with my whole life time, but by no means insignificant. I reckon it as the most important episode of my life till now. It's the time during which I transformed from a childish student without any knowledge about campus life to a relatively mature person who gets ready to involving in the whole society. In these years, I met more people than ever before, most of them are just passers, because there is no real connection between these people and me. But it is not the case for my roommates and me, the relation was established firmly on daily bases (even though I went home very often), it is substantial and virtual. Bulging stomach after each dining out, carefree and boundless chats before sleep, rush preparing PPT for different courses together, fierce racing to get seats in the library in early morning...all these little things will be intact reserved on my mind. Now even the frictions between us are becoming beautiful for they will never be back again.
Hey, stop reminiscing any more! It's the time to look forward. After graduation, Juan and Qian choose to work in Shenzhen and Macau respectively, Wen and me will still stay in Shanghai. Anyway, the geographic distance is never a problem as long as the link between us is not broken. I will think of you and write to you, and I hope you too. Good luck, my dear roommates, I will pray for you all.
