Things always go on like this, when I start to write, the desire of writing just runs away. But when nights fall down, my brain is filled with words I want to express out while I lay on my bed, yet I seldom get up, just let these thoughts flow away with my dream.
Several days before, I was a little shocked by the words spoken out by a girl who was a senior student in a high school. It was in the noon when I was having my lunch, she ordered a song for her friend in a radio program through phone call, she said in her bless that she hope that her friend could find a prince charming that can feed her for the life time.Her last part of words startled me, "to find a man that can feed her for the life time". Please take notice of her education background, she is already a girl going to receive higher education in a university, so I can't help to ask haven't her been taught to be independent, to live on her own but not any body else? Why an educated girl is still contrained by the idea that "women fed by men is a matter of course"? Now we have already got into a totally brand-new time that women have unprecedented capability and right to find their due positions in the society. I firmly believe that human is born to be equal, though men are stronger than women physically, but today's age is far from the time that things can be handled by physical strength, but via brain, via wisdom. I never think women's mentality is lower than men, even in the logical aspect. All through my growth, I was told by my parents, relatives, even my teachers that boys are smarter than girls, yes, you girls get higher score of the learning courses than boys now because boys haven't worked hard, boys like to play, but once they start to make some efforts in their learning, you girls will sure be lagged behind even you spare no effort in your study. What ridiculous remark! Why should girls bear these since they come to this world? Girl is taught not to get too high education background because this will frighten boys away, girl is taught no need to work hard as long as she got a rich husband, girl is taught to pay more attention on her appearance like figure or face but not the stuff in her brain. These thoughts are so deeply rooted in the minds of the most shanghaiese, I have heard my auntie said for many times that I am much more relaxed than her son, my cousin, who as she said must struggle to earn quite a lot to support his future family, but me, to find a stable job is just enough and best state to be in, girl doesn't need to have her own career, doesn't need to fight for her future? I've got a close friend whose dream and goal is just to get a wealthy husband that can let her enjoy comfortable life without working outside. I'm really sick of this. The lowest standard to be a human is the ability to survive, if we can't meet the requirement of subsistence by ourselves, but only rely on other people,.how can we be called a qualified human? How can we win our dignities in the society? Yes, I want to live easily too, I don't want to be driven by never-ending tasks but lean into a cozy sofa watching TV, yet I am too young, just a little girl who will graduate in few days from university, a girl who haven't really viewed the whole scenery of this world, I want to experience, I want to venture, I hate to just be a housewife around the chore all day and just think how to please my husband. Oh, no, these will drive me mad. I hope to lead a independent and healthy life in the prospect of economics, thinking and life style. For this, I work and learn and have fun, enjoying everyday of my life.
