Modern romance: Get texted when love is near
I felt really puzzled when I read this news’ name. Of course, I chose this news to read for I thought it must be interesting to see the so-called modern romance—get texted when love is near. The title reminded me something of love online and the public opinions towards the online love
When I was in senior school, I seldom surfed the Internet and I had no cellphone, so I got no idea of online love and I didn’t understand why my classmates love sending text messages. I thought it is just a waste of time, so I made up my mind that I would never chat online and buy a cellphone at that time. However, when I graduated from high school and was admitted by Nanjing University, my parents thought I should have a cellphone to keep in touch with my friends and relatives. I changed my mind when I noticed almost all of my classmates had got their own cellphones. In the summer vacation, I had no homework to do. My uncle bought a new computer for me, so my parents allowed me to surf the Internet then. At first, I only watched cartoons online, but when my classmates told me there were many students of Nanjing University online chatting with each other, I changed my mind once again and then I started to chat with those friends all over China, get to know each other and dream the freshman life in university. Step by step, I become a teenage familiar with almost modern ways to communicate with each other, chatting online and sending text messages, which I had never thought about in senior school.
I don’t feel anything wrong with those ways to connect with my friends and relative. It doesn’t have to be romance. I simply keep in touch with my friends though net and cellphone. I think most teenagers also have the same feeling. When I got to university, I was very curious and wanted to know those friends of Naning University who are talking with me online in summer vacation, so we sent text messages to fix a place or date to hold a meeting for those who were talking together online. It just likes the situation in the news, but we all treat it as an interesting way to make new friends. Also when there are some interesting lectures or important meeting, I will also be informed by text messages. It is more convenient for me to adapt to freshman life.
I don’t know whether the new service can spark real romance and I think that we needn’t treat it too skeptical. My only wish is to keep in touch with my friends and my parents. It may be the simplest happiness I cherish when I get stumbled and feel sad.
