In our society, languages play great roles in daily life. People have to use languages to communicate with each other and express themselves. The world is changing and developing everyday. In the process of using languages, languages are also changed and developed, because of the influence of other languages, the impact of new science and technology achievements, and the influence of famous events or people. Various reasons for the change and development in languages also reflect different aspects of our society.
Multinational communication between different countries can lead to a change or development in languages. There are a great many joint venture companies where two or more languages are used; therefore, people have to communicate with people from different countries where different languages are used. In fact, two or more languages influence each other at the same time; therefore, languages are easily changed in the communication. For example, Italians use “il software”, which comes from the English word “software”. The English word “software” had been Italianized and then it was added to Italian vocabulary. The Italian language became different, for it became more complete in vocabulary. As people communicate more and more through international businesses, languages we use are also changed and developed to adjust to this situation.
Science and technology also bring great changes and developments to the common languages. Today, even in the same language, many words have the same spelling and grammar principles, but their latest meaning are quite different from the original meanings; so this kind of great change and development in languages may owe to the great development of modern technology or science.
