Dear Janissen,
I have received a letter about the fee pertaining to late payment of my tuition fee.
On 25 January 2007 I arrived at Sydney and received a letter that required me to pay the tuition fee. In addition, the due date is 26/01/2007. However, 26 January is the Australian Day. So, I cannot pay the fee at public holiday. Then I sent an email to student fees office according to the email address in the fee letter. Unfortunately, it was returned.
In the afternoon, I hurried to HSBC bank to exchange my P.O. to my bank account and planed to write a cheque to pay my fee. However, out of my imagination, the staff of bank told me that my money will available after 3 work days, I have no idea that HSBC has changed its policy.
Then I went to the international student office and asked a staff. The staff gave a call to an administer, according to his words, I can pay fees as soon as possible without any penalty.
After the Australian day, it was weekend. Therefore, on the next Thursday, I paid my tuition fee.
That is the whole story, I was definitely trying my best to pay the tuition fee on time. Due to several unexpected reasons, I did not make it. Whatever, I want to apologize to bring such inconvenience to the officers and accept my appeal to the penalty of late payment.
If my appeal is successful, I would like to receive a cheque.
Regards,
N W
