Dear all,

We are delighted to contact you again.
In this letter two papers and one essay are contained as the first 'gift' we send to you, which you can find in the attachment.

In this week's jc paper, the topic is relevant to Ubiquitin mediated protein degradation, due to which three scientists were awarded the Nobel prize for chemistry of 2005.Remarkably, one of the two papers are sent by Aaron Ciechanover, one of the three winners, for our request.
As the ubiquitin mediated protein degradation pathways is of great importance for the cell to maintain its normal functions, disturbance of this process might then cause severe consequences and diseases. The discovery of this pathway by the three scientists is really an outstanding work, which has helped us to understand the protein disposal problem in the cell and proposed a detailed process and molecular mechanism
in that process.

So we do hope you will enjoy this week's jc papers, and we are looking forward to your feedbacks.

When you read the papers, here are some tips for you:

1.The essay attached in this mail releases some tips for how to read scintific papers and ask proper questions, we hope it will be helpful to you and so suggest that you read the essay first;

2.Another suggestion is that you read the paper named "the ubiquitin system" first, as this may provide you a basic idea of the whole pathway;
to continue, read the paper named" The ubiquitin-proteasome pathway:on protein death and cell life",written and sent/recommened by Aaron Ciechanover, whcih may help you have a further understanding of the system.

3.some of you may feel a bit difficult when reading these papers, our suggestion is exactly like the tips mentioned in the essay, just keep on. The beginning is always hard, please try your best to keep on.And if you meet any problem, please don't hesitate to inform us, we are glad to be of any help.

4.Finally, we want to emphasize again :there is no limit on when you read, what to write and
when to reply.Anyone who sends back the comment will receive our feedback.

Finally,some members of the club suggest building an alumni for our organizition, which we consider is a good idear and is being built now. Some members asked us that wehther would we send this kind of letters both in chinese and english.However, after consideration and communication, we insist that english should be the only language uesd in letters, comments and feebacks as improving the english abilities is one of the aims of our club.

We are delighted to hear your voice and thanks for you care.
Again, let's progress together and grow with our club.

Best regards

Journal Club
