| The time at which the Moon first sets below the horizon. The rising and setting times are dependent on latitude, but occur later each day by an average of 1/29.531 of a day (about 49 minutes). However, the actual time difference between risings/settings on consecutive days can be  minutes greater of less over the course of the year. The time of moonset closest to a given date can be determined using MoonSet[neardate] in the Mathematica application package Scientific Astronomer. |
