Essentially, any period of time shorter than a month and longer than a day. In normal usage, a week is a unit of time defined as 7 days. Two weeks are called a fortnight. The Mayan calendar had two different weeks of 13 and 20 days. The French revolutionary calendar had 10-day weeks.
