An Avogadro's number (i.e., quantity
) of a substance. A mole of chemical substance is therefore, by definition, the number in grams corresponding to the atomic or molecular mass (in atomic mass units). For example, since carbon-12 has atomic mass of 12, a mole of carbon is 12 grams.
