Hope is a good thing

This weekend I watched a film with the title“Shaw shank’s Redemption”. It’s starred by famous Hollywood actor Tom Hanks who also starred as a subnormal person in “Forrest Gump”.

The film tells us a romantic legend about an unlucky banker Andy Defang. He could have been very happy if he was not treated unjustly on the court. But all the witnesses were not good for him. God played a cruel joke on him: he was mistaken as the murderer who murdered his disloyal wife.

So Andy was put into Shaw Shank prison, sentenced a lifetime jail. Imagine an innocent man suffered such misfortune, lost everything including promising career, large wealth as well as good reputation, and, the most important of all: freedom. I always remember an old saying goes like this: give me liberty or give me death! Poor Andy was suffering much worse than even death!

But being a determined person, he is just no quitter. For 19 years he took the advantage of his professional economic knowledge to rise far in the officers’s regard, and he escaped those gays attack by making friends with others. Besides, he used a small hammer to dig a path which leading to the outside of the prison, a handful of sand a day. Once there were a chance for him to demonstrate his innocence, but the evil officer kills the witness ’cause he was afraid of his crime would be exposed.

The time is ripe. Andy had got everything prepared for his flight. On a rainy night he succeeded, he threw himself in the river, mixed with tears, sweat, and rain----

Before the computer screen my teardrops fell like rain too. He took all the money away, accused the officer of the prison through a letter and all the ill people got their just deserts.

There is a line in the movie which impressed me profoundly: Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best things of all, and no good thing ever dies!
