Mother's Biography
My mother was born in 1954's summer and she's the fifth child of the family.
When she was born, she was planned to given to one of my grandparents' relatives because her parents have already had one son and three girls, which was a heavy burden for a young couple. Another reason is that Chinese parents always want to have sons rather than daughters, whom they think couldn't do more things for the family, especially after they married. And it's common in China to give the baby girl to others, who couldn't have their own child. However, my mother hadn't been given to that relative because of some unknown reasons and she grew up in this big family. But there is still one thing that mother is different from her siblings, that's her name. In China, the siblings always share a same character in their names to represent that they come from a same family. And my mother's name is different from others and doesn't have the same character "Zhen" of the girls. (Boys and girls have their respective same character. In my mother's family, girls have "Zhen", which means treasure; boys have "Long", which means King.)
When my mother was at school age, China suffered from a disaster, the Culture Revolution, and most young people had to give up their studies and began to work in factory or go to farming. And my mother was one of them and she began to work at an early age, maybe 15 or 16.
God have everything in his hands. The factory where my mother worked is the one where my father had his practice when he was graduating. After my father graduation from college, they got married. Later, my mother changed her work from that factory to the library of the university where my father is working now.
Not experiencing many difficulties, my mother always has a childlike heart. She's interested in new things and like to try new things she has never been. In my and my sister's eyes, she's a lovely big girl. Now that she was retired, she began to study English by herself and has finished one third of junior school's study. Now she emails to me and my sister in English and it's very interesting for us to read her letter.
Oh, there is one thing I forgot to say, my mother is very beautiful and young, and few people could guess her real age and that's her secret. We love our pretty and lovely mother.
